What Exactly Is In Luvme No Nasties Wipes?

June 08, 2023

As a brand, we aim to always be fully transparent with you.

Luvme is proud that the ingredients we use contain no nasties; we only want the best for your babe! Your baby’s skin is 10 times thinner and more permeable than your skin is. This means that anything that goes on your baby’s skin is absorbed into their blood stream—yikes! That is why we are passionate here at Luvme about chemical-free baby products.

It’s a good time to point out that our bamboo wipes and our plant-based wipes contain the same ingredients!

The only difference is what fibre they are made of and a slightly different price point. Bamboo wipes are made of bamboo fibres and plant-based are made of plant fibres. Both are 100% biodegradable!

One thing that separates us from other brands is that we use no fragrances at all in our wipes! Fragrances are full of chemicals and often cause rashes and irritation to sensitive skin. We thought it might be helpful to explain exactly what is in our wipes, ingredient by ingredient, and why we have chosen them.

That’s it! No fragrances, no alcohol, no unnecessary chemicals!

We did a quick comparison with a popular baby wipe brand and these were their wipes ingredients:

Aqua, Glycerin, Polysorbate 20, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Benzoate, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Chamomilla Recutita Flower Water, Tocopheryl Acetate, Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate, Citric Acid, Fragrance

As you can see, that’s a longer ingredient list with added chemicals! It’s important to note that the chemicals in “fragrance” don’t have to be listed specifically either, so it’s hard to know which toxic chemicals are in fragrance in these wipes.

Luvme Eco wipes are safe for your precious babe, kind to the planet, and top performing on every level.

Luvme Through the Generations: Meet the Family

Luvme Eco is truly a close-knit, family-owned business and today, it’s our birthday! Woo hoo! Luvme began nearly 14 years ago when Kendall and her mum, Laurie, were confronted with the fact that every year 1.5 billion disposable nappies end up in landfill in Australia every year! They knew they had to find a solution that was kinder to the Earth, for future generations. The first eco nappy was born not long after and the rest is history!
