7 Ways to Celebrate Galentine’s With Your Fave Gal Pals
Galentine’s is a day of love celebrated on February 13 that is dedicated to celebrating the girls in your life! You know the ones…. they’ve stuck with you through thick and thin and have been by your side through all the ups and downs of life. They have seen you at your best and your worst and they love you all the same! There’s cheesy phrases like “overies before broveries” and “uteruses before duderuses” connected to Galentine’s that make us laugh but the point is that February doesn’t just need to be about romantic love. Let’s celebrate those friendships that make our lives fuller and richer… so here’s (this is us raising an imaginary toast) to all the wonderful women in our lives who we couldn’t live without!
There’s no rules to celebrating Galentine’s Day but if you want some ideas, consider this your guide to making this year’s Galentine’s your best yet!
1. Get Creative Together
There is something really special about getting creative with the girls you love! And there’s so many options… Paint and Sip classes, pottery classes, cooking classes, just to name a few.
Kendall (our business owner and founder of LuvmeEco) loves going to a local pottery studio (Stone Studio in Kingscliff) and creating treasures from clay. “I loved being able to use my imagination and pushing out of my comfort zone while creating. I learnt a great lesson that perfection doesn’t equal beauty.”
2. Treat Yourself
That’s right, you deserve it! Book in that pedi, massage, bathhouse, and/or facial! Relaxing together might just be the best gift you can give each other this Galentine’s Day.
3. Experience a Sunrise Together
We promise it’s worth it… get up that little bit early with your girlfriends and watch the sun rise together. And it goes without saying that coffee and brunch after is an absolute must!
Heidi, our content creator/wordsmith, is a recent sunrise enthusiast. “I’m not sure how I lived the majority of my life without experiencing sunrises. I’ve never felt more alive than when I watch the golden sun slip over the horizon. It’s a beautiful reminder that every day is a fresh start.”
4. Rom-Com Movie Night
Pjs on, bra optional, make-up off… celebrate Galentine’s with an in-house movie night with your besties! The popular Tik-Tok board trend could be a fun idea! Everyone brings a different type of snack on a board (popcorn board, chocolate board, charcuterie board) to share. Pop on your favourite rom-com and let the Galentine’s celebrations commence!
5. Spread Some Love
Nothing will cue the warm fuzzies like spreading some love in a practical way together. Volunteer at a local shelter, pay for someone else’s meal, write encouraging notes… just find a way to brighten someone else’s day.
Our LuvmeEco staff love making meals together for Fred’s Place, a homeless shelter in our local area. Nic, our customer service guru shared, “I love taking a little time and making a meal for someone in need. It’s something small but knowing that they will be grateful for it makes me feel good.”
6. Gift Exchange
Who doesn’t love giving and receiving gifts? Celebrate your love for each other with a Galentine’s gift exchange! Set a limit and challenge yourself to find the most creative and thoughtful gift around.
7. Get Moving
Getting outside and moving your bodies together is the ultimate endorphin-releasing Galentine’s activity! Go for a walk on the beach, book a group Pilates class, or a go for a hike in a National Park.
