This one is for all the preggy and brand-new mamas: a comprehensive list of everything you need postpartum! All the things you need can feel overwhelming so we have narrowed it down to what we think are the top essentials! We’re a team of mums who have been there through multiple postnatal seasons so we totally get it. That beautiful, exhausting baby bubble can be so stretching… we think that having these items will make it just that little bit smoother! Obviously this list could be more extensive but here are our  can’t-live-without items 

 1. Natural and Gentle Wipes  

Let’s be honest, postpartum is messy! You’ll need a pack of baby wipes just about everywhere you go for those unexpected spills and messy situations. Luvme eco wipes are all-natural and so sensitive on tender skin so they’re perfect for a quick refresh downstairs (is that TMI?) Keep our wipes on your bedside table for those milk mishaps and to keep your hands clean. The options are endless because so are the messes! And use as many as you want, they are biodegradable and won’t leave a footprint on our beautiful planet!  


2. Haakka  

The Haakka is honestly a god-send and we think every feeding mama needs one! The Haakka is a silicon breast pump that suctions to your breast and collects milk with minimal effort. It is perfect for catching the letdown when you’re feeding on one side. This milk can be stored for future times if you’ll be out—hello date night! The Haakaa can help relieve painful engorgement too.  


3. Reusable Breast Pads  

Leaky boobs can be a real pain! Our reusable breast pads are made of super soft bamboo with a waterproof lining to avoid leaks all over your clothes! The perfect size, Luvme breast pads are super absorbent and easy to reuse again and again.  


 4. Comfy Feeding Bras/ Sets  

Comfy needs to be your vibe in your baby bubble! Be gentle with that beautiful body of yours… nothing restrictive (this can help avoid mastitis) Having a stash of breast-feeding bras is key. We love Mumma Milla for feeding bras because they are super soft, comfortable, and leak proof! Also soft, high waisted (size up) undies are also great to have. We love Boody because they are bamboo, soft, and breathable.  

Matching sets are on trend and they basically feel like pyjamas so winning! Something that you can throw on quickly but still look semi put together has our vote. So many brands are doing matching sets and Cotton On even have some cute ones!  


 5. Insulated Water bottle  

Staying hydrated post baby is so important to your recovery. We found that the best way to do that is to have a good quality water bottle. We love Yeti for keeping water super cold and refreshing. Make sure it’s a decent size so you don’t have to fill it up 10x a day!  


6. Low-Tox Maternity Pads  

You’ll need pads for all that post birth bleeding (boo!) Choosing a low-tox option is important because what we put on our skin goes into our blood stream, especially in those sensitive areas. We recommend Tom’s organic maternity pads!  


7. Silverettes  

These came highly recommended by a lactation consultant, Amber, who we interviewed for our journal. Since learning about them, we have heard from lots of you who love them too! Silverettes are nipple covers that you wear in between feeds to protect and heal damaged nipples. Made from 925 silver, studies have proven that silver contains antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal and antibacterial benefits to prevent and repair the nipple skin at all stages of the breastfeeding or expressing journey. 

8. Allllll The Snacks  

You might be surprised how hungry you are post birth, especially if you’re breastfeeding! Now is the time to nourish that incredible body, your body knows what it’s doing. Don’t feel bad asking your partner to get you snacks when you need it… it’s important for both you and that sweet bundle of yours! Keeping easy one-handed snacks close by makes it easy. Some of our fave snacks to have on hand are mixed roasted nuts, bliss balls, popcorn, fruit, Greek yogurt, and cheese and crackers.
