We are so thankful to live in our gorgeous, sun-drenched country that we call home. The truth is though as I’m sure you are aware that the sun comes with potential damage to little bodies. Did you know that Australia has one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world? It’s a very real danger to our precious kiddies. Slip, slop, slap is an Aussie anthem but there’s a few easy things that parents overlook when it comes to sun safety. Make sure that you’re keeping your little ones safe by not missing these key elements!

1 | Not Protecting Little Eyes

Did you know that your little one’s eyes are more sensitive to sun damage? Their lenses can’t block out UV rays like yours as an adult can and this damage can be irreversible. It’s so important to protect their sensitive eyes from sun damage by putting sunglasses on them! We love Babiators sunnies—they look cute and block out 100% of UVA and UVB rays, protecting against sun damage.

 2 | Underestimating Gloomy Days

UV radiation is something we can’t see, so even on cloudy days, harmful UV rays are present. Make the choice to sunscreen up regardless of whether it’s a sunny day or not!

3 | Forgetting to Apply Sunscreen on Legs

Make sure to apply sunscreen to those squirmy little legs, even if they will be in the water in the pool. It’s easy to think they will be protected in the water but in fact, UV rays can be maximised underwater. And don’t forget to reapply!
